Q: 8) What are the ideas being considered? A: The most feasible looks to be to set up an Educational Resources Centre, which would draw in the income to keep the building in good order, and enable the community to continue to use the facility for little cost. This idea is considered to offer the greatest chance of having a school in Chatton in the longer term future (in 10 or 15 years time) should one be required, which was a major concern expressed by local residents at previous public meetings. There was wide support for this idea at the first meeting of the Chatton Development Forum (3.4.08), attended by representatives from: Surestart, Community Action Northumberland, Northumberland National Park Authority, Berwick Borough Council, Glendale Gateway Trust, Northumberland Community Development Network, Social Enterprise Northumberland, Chatton Children’s Group, Bell View (Belford), The British Council, Chatton CEAF School and Governors, The Church of England, Tillside Parish Council, (Chairman and others), and some village residents.
